Aeroplane Hijack puzzle 30 may

Aeroplane Hijack puzzle

A man hijacks an aeroplane transporting both passengers(8 of them) and valuable cargo. After taking the cargo, the man demands nine parachutes, puts one of them on, and jumps, leaving the other eight behind. Why did he want eight?

1. coz he want all 8 passangers to survive.......

1. so that the passengers couldnt follow him..

2. because he wanted the preciouse cargo to go done with him

3. i mean down:):):)

4. so they all die :P

5. BECAUSE HE WAS THE PILOT - he left the other 8 parachutes behind for the passengers that would die without them.

6. so they give him a parachutes that work.

7. THE EIGHT PASSENGERS ARE THE PRECIOUS CARGO!!!

8. He doesnt want them to give him a faulty parachute.

9. If the officials thought he was jumping with a hostage, they would never risk giving him a faulty parachute.

10. the parachute has to be one that will turn into an airplane as the cargo lands safely in the middle of the forest at the perfect time for the barbeque

11. pilot is the highjacker

13. cause he wanted to kill all 8

14. this is because if he asked for 9 the pilot will think it is for the passengers too. so they would not risk giving him a faulty parchute

15. so that the officials would not give him faulty parchute

16. He want nine because he will use it all ONE for the highjacker and EIGHT for the valuable cargo.
Easy HAHAHA!!

17. Beacause if the cargo drops it will probably be destroyed so he used the parachutes for the cargo
Ps: The Pilot is the Highjacker.

2. he left the 8 behind.so the ans is incorrect :(

1. he wanted to make the officials think he might take a hostage, so that's why he wanted 9 not-faulty parachutes. It doesn't matter if he left anyone behind

3. assuming he left the other 8 parachutes behind.
He(hacker) was the pilot. He took the cargo and jumped. Now there wasn't any to fly the plane. He wanted the cargo only and didn't want passengers to die. So he got parachutes for them so that they can jump too (later on) and save themselves.

1. You're correct intact your really hot

2. I KNOW IM BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE SAYS THAT!! YOUR HOT TOO

3. because of the cargo aswell

4. he used the parachutes 4 the cargo

5. He did not want to get a faulty parachute.

4. I know this riddle, solution is nothing to do with passenger's life

1. MY friend if a riddle is asked it will of course have some solution with the passenger come use some soap

5. Cargo is luggage which he took, rest are 8 passengers thats why left 8 parachutes.

6. hijacker* :P

7. Becoz he wasn't a hijacker. Hijackers are not mercifully like he did, he got what he wanted so he had no business with the other guys.

1. A hijacker is a person who confiscates a vehicle that is currently being used. It has nothing to do with their aptitude for mercy.

2. i think it is because there was a baby amongst them

8. there were 8 passegers(including the hijacker).
He demanded 9 ...coz 1 is needed for the cargo, 1 for himself n rest 7 for other passengers...thanks.

9. The hijacker was afraid that if he asked for a single parachute to jump out, someone would tamper with it so that he would be killed when he jumped out with it. By asking for 9 parachutes, they would think that he intended all the passengers to jump too. Since no one knew which parachute the hijacker would pick, they dared not tamper with any of them, lest one of the passengers accidentally got the faulty parachute and would be the one to fall to their death. The hijaker knew that no matter which one he took, it would be a properly working parachute.

1. that ,Makes a lot of sense! BUT WOULD SOME1 TELL ME THE REAL ANSWER?!

2. If the riddle replaced: want with leave, this would be the correct answer. But, is it really a misspelling or intentional?

10. the answer is that he wanted them to think he had hostages

11. The valuable cargo were people that needed parachutes too.

1. But he left the parachutes behind. He didn't take the rest of the parachutes with him, but he did take the cargo! Nice try though ;D

12. Bhai Ko Salam

1. LOL...nice!
Meri taraf se bhi!

2. LOL Wut ^^ xx ;)

3. WUT?WUT?WUT? THAT IS MAKING NO SENSE! SPEAK TO ME IN ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13. there were 9 people on the plane (pilot, co-pilot) and 7 passengers (1 must be the hijacker himself) he holds the cargo in his hands and take 1 parachute leaves 8 parachutes all the people will fight for the paras and in the end start hitting each other...

14. The other eight parachutes are for the cargo that he is taking with him. He isn't holding the cargo....

15. The riddle (like most) uses deceptive wording to confuse you. When it says at the end "leaving the other eight behind," it's not talking about the other 8 parachutes, it's talking about the 8 passengers. He uses 1 parachute for himself, 8 for the cargo, and leaves 8 passengers behind.

16. He achieved his goal. Left the scene without troubling anybody.

17. there were 8 passengerws plus himself make 9 DAH

18. He DIDN'T want eight, he wanted nine.

19. the cargo is humans

20. The other eight parachutes were for the cargo dumb shits

21. I think he demanded 9 parachutes, and took them, leaving 8 people behind.

22. I think he want to save all peoples on aeroplane...
airlines contacts

23. I think he kidnapped the pilot, because there was a huge reward for the pilot. After hooking himself to the pilot and securing the parachute to them both he jumped out of the plane. He wasn't really a hijacker or he would have taken over the plane, but he was a bounty hunter. He knew with their alltitude that on autopilot the others on the plane would have time to put on their shoots and jump to safety.

25. I read two really good answers, and one of them I came up with myself.

My answer was that he was the pilot, only wanting to steal the cargo. But the answer that he didn't want anyone to tamper with his chute is pretty good too, except we have no idea as to how many there are in the plane. Since the riddle doesn't specify, I'll still go with him being the pilot.

It also said that he left the other 8 parachutes behind, so he didn't use them to take the cargo.

Also, I doubt that there's a copilot since there were only 8 passengers. It was most likely a small plane.

**If someone makes a spelling mistake, don't look it up on google and correct them.

S/P

26. so many annoying things wrong with this riddle. he didnt want 8... he wanted 9. when did he demand these parachutes? in the same sentence he is demanding parachutes off people (presumably) on the ground, then suddenly hes putting it on and jumping out the plane... the answer is totally obvious if the thing was written properly

28. i wish yud be tellin us the right answer ultimately.
Most are just post by people and it hard to tell which is tru

1. I know rite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! people need to stop being idiots and tell us the rite answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

29. He did it because he wanted them to think he was taking the 8 passengers with him so they wouldn't risk giving him a faulty parachute in case one of his hostages got the faulty one.

ilovegrace.1210

30. He needed the parachutes for the cargo he had taken

31. The plane never left the ground. He took the cargo and then demanded the parachutes which he coulnt get unless the plane was on the ground already.

32. so the eight passengers can surrvive

33. because the official people would never of given him a non faulty parachute if they thought he was taking someone with him. Whereas if he asked for only one they would of given him a faulty one in the hopes he dies jumping off the plane. worked it out all by myself

34. Who delivered the parachutes to the plane and how?

35. The people would think that the person was taking others with him, so they wouldn't give him a faulty one. But then he took one parachute without taking a hostage.

36. He didnt want eight, he asked for nine.....lol

37. he wants to use the parachutes to use on the cargo

38. I think he took 9 because he wanted to attach the items (cargo) to the remaining eight parachutes

39. Because he damaged th other parachutes so none could persue him

40. Coz he destroyed othe 8 parachutes so none could persue him

41. I think that the hijaker left the parachutes threatening the people that if they didn't let him go with the cargo he would throw the parachutes off the plane!

42. He took one parachute for himself and 8 parachutes for all his cargo. Easy peasy.

43. LOL, he only hijacked the plane, the plane is still flying!

1. I love idiots like you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! complete sarcasm!! WELL DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

44. The man wanted a life.

1. Thats just stupid...

2. No it's not. He wanted to find a life and he started with hijacking an airplane XD.

45. I'm confused. Did he take eight parachutes or did he leave eight parachutes? If he took eight parachutes and left one which is what I thought he did, he probably used seven to carry his cargo and one for him. If not, I say ask one of the passengers.
Peace. Anonymous out.

46. i think he used other 8 parachute for his cargo so that he land safely and his cargo too

48. 8 chutes for the cargo of course the precious cargo can't be easily carried down and even if it is he doesn't want those 8 coming after him with the parachutes

49. the answer makes no fucking sense!!!!!!!

50. so that the passengers would not be able to follow him

51. Im looking forward to see the real story.

52. The other eight parachutes were for the cargo. -_-

53. at the end of the question it says y did he want 8 but he didnt wand 8 he wanted 9?

54. The answer makes sense only if you rephrase the poorly worded puzzle. Hijacker asked for 9 parachutes(not 8). Why did he ask for 9 (if he only ended up using one)? Ans: If he'd asked for only the one he needed it might be rigged to fail in some way. Not much of riddle if you ask me.

1. You are close to the right answer!

55. This comment has been removed by the author.

56. He didn't, he wanted 9...

57. If he got caught, the couldn't charge him for the deaths of 8 people...

58. The answer is "NO" he does not want 8 he want's 9.. Just read the riddle again it's not complicated it's just a trick question.

59. There are a lot of answers to this problem.
-He wanted 9, not eight
-So that it wouldn't be his fault for the death of eight people.(He would let the parachutes go so that it would look like if there were no more parachutes left and he was the man who was chosen to survive)
-He put the cargo on his parachutes.
-The precious cargo were rich people xD

1. no its obvious, its so that they wont give him a faulty parachute since it looked like he was gonna take a hostage so they, since he asked for 8 other parachutes

60. What do I do now?

61. while using a parachute both hands are involved in controlling parachute so the hijacker cannot take cargo and also he cannot take cargo in a bag as he have to carry parachute bag on his shoulder.

64. He demanded all of the parachutes so that he can be certain that they don't give him a sabotaged parachute (If they break all the 9 parachutes then they wont be able to jump out after him).
So yeah. Safety.

65. There was cargo in the plane which the hijacker could not have possibly carried by himself. He could have taken one piece of cargo and jumped with a parachute. In order to ensure that the remaining pieces of cargo too were airdropped safely, he left 8 parachutes for the passengers and asked them to jump with the remaining cargo pieces strapped to each person. In order to force them to do so, he could have placed a bomb in the plane which would have forced them to parachute after him. In case any smart aleck did not jump with the cargo, he would have shot him as soon as he saw the person landing without the cargo since the hijacker would be waiting on the ground :)

66. He didn't want 8 he wanted 9

67. He was an alien and a UFO landed on the roof of the plane and it needed paracthutes to fly to the sun so it would be destroyed and nyan cat flies up and poops on the sun

68. He was pilot as well as 1 of the 8 passengers he used one for himself one for cargo and left the rest behind for the 7 remaining passengers.

69. He is the pilot, the nineth person on the plane. He ordered 9 parachute for each one of them, got into one and jumped out of the plane leaving the 8 hijackers behind with 8 parachute to save themselves. He has nothing to do with the cargo, he just wanted to save himself.

70. He wanted the cargo
but he coudnt carry it on parachutes
so he needed the plane
but not the passengers

So whathe did he asked all passengers to jump.
including the pilot..

and ultimately flew away wid the pane as well as cargo

71. Dear all, It's very simple...
Let us consider there is one hijacker (He is one of the passenger) + 7 other passenger + 1 pilot = 9 people on the board..
There are probably 2 reasons for asking 9 parachutes
1. He asked for 9 parachutes to ensure that all the parachutes are untampered..
2. When he left 8 parachutes behind other passengers or pilot will think that he must have plotted bomb in the plane and to save his life he jumped.. following the same other passengers and pilot also jumped off by wearing parachutes... if hijacker is the only person to jump off the plane probably the armed forces following him will shoot him from other air craft or helicopter.. (I am assuming other aircraft / helicopter as there should be some way to provide parachutes in flying plane)
When he jumped.. probably after very short time all the passangers have jumped... so armed force can not identify the real hijacker...

72. the 8 passengers were his accomplices (also hijackers)

73. he put the other parachutes to the cargos and jumps out.
the 8 passengers are left behind but not the parachutes

74. OMG so simple....he asked for 9, destroyed the other 8 so no one can follow him (incase there was a marshall on the plane), uses the other one to escape.

75. Stupid, he didn't ask for 8, he asked for nine. Also, who is handing him parachutes? Doesn't make sense.

76. First, you can't know why he did anything. It's always a guess, so riddles like this are open-ended and there is nothing necessary about them. They're failures as riddles. They're not logic puzzles at all, just a game where you try to guess what the guy who made up the riddle chose to make the answer. Stupid.

My guess would be that he wanted to make sure he didn't have a faulty parachute. If there are 9 (or around 9) parachutes on the plane, and he as access to all of them, he can choose one at random to make sure the one he has isn't sabotaged or damaged. After all, those giving the parachutes over don't know which he'll use, and they can't destroy them all because they might need them (though there's nothing in the riddle that says they're absolutely necessary or likely, right?). He obviously didn't want to kill anyone or even deprive them of the ability to jump out because he didn't destroy (as far as I can tell) or take them.

1. maybe its all because that those eight passenger have their own cargo.

2. maybe because all every passenger has their own cargo, if you ride on a plane as far as i know they will give you your own parachute to ensure all safety. if the hijacker receives 8 parachutes, it means that all the passenger gave their cargo

77. He used those 8 parachutes to bind those 8 passengers so that no one follow him, the pilot cannot leave his seat.

78. He didn't want 8 anything. The man demands 9 parachutes, takes one parachute and the cargo. Nowhere does it say anything about the man wanting 8.

79. One for the pilot

80. the real question is, how did they get him the parachutes?

81. i have a riddle for u ,i have two words but a thousand letters what am i

82. Oh for heavens sake, Hostages! I'm not saying thats The answer but it is a answer.

83. And I've got it right!

84. First who will open parachute with cargo,so the hijacker was plane pilot and passengers were his friend

85. I think the answer is that there were totally 9 ppl in the plane including the hijacker. The hijacker wanted to take the cargo which might be kept in one of the parachutes. Since all look same he demanded all the 9 parachutes checked the one in which the cargo is kept and took that parachute and left the rest.

86. Omg lol. It's so obvious. Either, the hijacker hijacked the plane so that it would kill the passengers or he wanted to pretend that he took 8 people as hostages to keep the passengers quiet and he took away the cargo.

87. 8 more parachutes for the cargo of 8 people

88. improper riddle

89. improper riddle

90. He might picked up a school boy's bag thinking it as a parachute and went off

91. Well its obvious
