Math Riddle - 27 February

Find three whole, positive numbers that have the same answer when multiplied together as when added together.

1. 1, 2 and 3
1*2*3 = 6
1+2+3 = 6

2. very easy ,

xyz=x+y+z
x(yz-1)=y+z
x=(y+z)/(yz-1)

if y=1 z=2 then x=3

1,2,3

1. beautiful answer, we can even expand this to give me the n number of triplets where this property holds good.

3. if 3 cats catch 3 mice in 3 minutes,how many will it take to catch 100 mice in 100 minutes?

1. It would take 1 cat, because 1 cat catches 1 mouse in 1 minute, so..... 1 cat can catch 100 mice in a hundred minutes!

2. It takes three cats to catch "one mouse per minute" If the three cats work for three minutes they catch three mice, if the three cats work for 100 minutes, they catch 100 mice. Thus the correct answer is three.

3. I will take 33.333 repeatedly cats to catch 100 mice in 100 minutes. Because if you think of the riddle properly It takes 1 cat 3 minutes to catch 1 mouse. If you let all 3 mice go at once and all three cats at once
And they all catch the mice at the same time, it takes 3 minutes to catch 3 mice which means 1 cat takes three minutes. So 100 mice divided by 3 minutes = 33.333333333333 repeatedly cats to catch the 100 mice in 100 minutes.

4. 1,2,3.
that was easy!!!

5. 1,2 & 3
