Definitely heat. It is easily transferred through metals and as the metal heats up it will also give off heat. Cold is slower than heat. When it comes through metal, It tends to "frost" the metal and not give off near the same amount of cooling that it would if it were heat going through the pipe.
It's creeping cold so heat can only be faster
Cold because if we have suffered from cold it flows faster from one person to another
Hot is much faster because you can catch a cold.
Heat, because you can catch a cold.
Only heat travels (rate of transfer), if it goes out things become cooler, if it comes in things get hotter.
