Bug Water JarLogic Math Problem - 11 December

In Sahara desert , 3 men found a big 24L Jar is full of water. Since there is shortage of water so they decided to distribute the water among themselves such that they all have equal amounts of it. But they only have a 13L, a 5L and an 11 liter Jar.

How do they do it?

  1. Each one has to get 8L.
    First fill the 13L jar completely and then fill the 5L jar fully, from the water in 13L jar. After this 13L jar will contain 8L.
    Now put this 8L into the 11L jar. Now 13L jar is empty. Also put back the water in 5L jar into the 24L jar. Now again fill completly the 13L jar and then fill the 5L jar from the water in 13L jar. Now 13L jar will contain 8L water.
    After this put the water in 5L jar back into the 24L jar. Now the 24L jar, 13L jar and 11L jar all will contain 8L Each. Easy...

    1. I completely agree with you. Having 13L and 5L jar simplifies the equation. There is nothing to it.

  6. first of all fill the jar having the capacity 13L& 11L which is equal to 24l.then fill the empty 5L jar from 13L jar.so the 13L jar is left with 8L.give it to 1st person & again do the same procedure for 2nd person.

    5) THEN 11 TO 13 ( 13 ALREADY HAVE 5 SO IT CAN TAKE 8 MEANS 11-8 =3 BAL IN 11

    POUR THE CONTENT OF 13L(2L) INTO 11L WHICH NOW HAS 8L
    POUR THE CONTENT OF 5L INTO 24L.
    24L->13->5L
    NOW 13L JAR HAS 8L.
    POUR THE CONTENT OF 5L INTO 24L. WE HAVE 8L OF WATER IN IT.
    THAT'S HOW U DO IT !!

  13. Each one will get 8L of water.
    1)Fill 13L jar and pour the water from it into 5L jar.Then there will be 8L of water left in 13L jar.
    2)Empty the water of 13L jar into 11L jar and water in 5L jar into 24L jar.
    3)Repeat procedure (1)
    4)Again pour the water left in 5L jar into 24Ljar.
    NOW THERE IS 8L LEFT IN 13L,11L AND 24L JARS WHICH IS EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED AMONG 3 OF THEM.
