  2. C7 to D8 gets taken by black rook. C7 to B8 gets taken by black bishop.

      the rook would take the king

  5. c7 takes b8 promote to knight (cxb8=N#)

    The king bloks some of the squares.
    The knight checks and blocks one of the squares.
    The pawn blocks one of the squares.

    P.S. the bishop is pinned by the rook so the bishop can't move either. I also play chess (it's fun).

  6. I might be wrong, but the D6 bishop could take the B8 knight, therefore preventing checkmate.
