Explain Murder Mystery Riddle

Explain Murder Mystery Riddle - 16 October

You are living at you place alone. You own a shed which has been locked. The lock that has been placed on the door can be closed without a key but need the key to be opened. You collected some old stuff and decided to keep it in the shed. After keeping the things, you locked it back. The next day, the police found a dead body inside the shed. As you are the only one living in your house, the police has nothing else to believe than you are the murderer. But you have not committed any crime.

There is a way the murder would have happened. Can you find that way and tell the police so you are not sentenced for the crime you did not commit ?

  1. After leaving I must have forgotten tje key on the door. And locked it behind me. So later some anonymous criminal must have opened the shed, (as the key was attached to the door) and murdered some one or put some dead body their.

  2. Perhaps, as I went to go and lock the door upon leaving, I did not in fact lock it as it already had locked itself upon closing, I had simply accidentally opened it when I though I was locking it. (But good luck telling the cops that, they will arrest your ass anyway...)

  5. For the person who can't see the answer site...

    Solution:
The lock can be closed without a key.

When you were keeping the things inside the shed, the murderer took the lock hanging on the door and replaced it with an identical one. You closed it as it did not require a key. When you were gone, the murderer opened the new lock with his key, planted the body inside, replaced the lock with the original one again and locked it.

    1. That sounds like a lot of work for the murderer, overnight. XD
      The murderer must be professional.

  6. The Police may be the murder... because how did they even knew that there was a dead body inside the shed. the police broke the lock and replaced it :))))

    1. That's my guess as well; if there WAS a body, it wouldn't be noticeable enough after a few days, I would probably the first one to see it. But given that they actually found it, the murderer has to be them, framing me.

  7. This isn't a very good riddle, it forces the solver to make too many assumptions to form the answer. It would be just as logical for me to say that the killer made a duplicate key while the owner wasn't home and was able to sneak in as it does to state the given answer. It's a horrible riddle.

  8. The person who told the police or the polish himself who found the body is the criminal as the door needs to be opened by the key, otherwise, how could the body be found.
