The answer here is wrong because if I were Mr. Black and I will aim at the ground, I would definitely hit it and that means that I already have wasted my 1 out 3 chance of hitting my target. So if I were Mr. Black I would aim at myself. If I miss then good I would have a fair chance of winning but If I hit it the first time? No worries, I'm gonna be dead anyway.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous -- That's not how probability works! If I flip a coin, I have a 1/2 chance it will land heads up. But that doesn't mean that the next time I flip it, I am guaranteed that it will land tails up. I still have a 1/2 chance of heads.

DeleteThe same goes here. If I shoot at the ground and hit it, I STILL have a 1/3 chance of hitting the next target I shoot at.

the guy should ask money for storing his water in the well he bought!
